My work is a reflection of my life, the people in it and the experiences I have with them. The photographs I take are a depiction of how I understand growing up, feeling vulnerable and experiencing pain. Living in a world obsessed by social media, my work shows my confusion and anxiety with the need for online approval, a protest against self obsession.

Bio
Gwen Datyner was born in London, UK on 8th November 1995. She studied at the secondary school, Ellen Wilkinson School for girls and then Drayton Manor High school for 6th form. She is presently studying Fine Art at Southampton Solent University (class of 2019). Her work is predominantly photography and video art that documents her life and the people she is drawn to. Currently based in Southampton, UK.
